Welcome to the Afropean Choir wiki

Oxford's new Afropean Choir forms a bridge between the western and the African world. The choir offers a different approach to song, breaking out from Africa and into the ethnic blend of the city.

We began in November 2007 and we're led by Anita Daulne of Zap Mama. We have 18 members all of whom play a vital part in the unique sound of the choir, a strong mix of polyphony and rhythm based on traditional and new songs arranged by Anita.

The Afropean Choir now has its own website! Go to [WWW]http://www.afropeanchoir.co.uk

The Afropean Choir wishes to thank Arts Council England and Pegasus Theatre, Oxford City Council (East Area Parliament) and Awards for All for getting the choir off to a flying start in 2007- 2009. We also send a big THANK YOU! to Oxfordshire Community Foundation for supporting the choir's activities in 2010 and 2011.

Choir members can log in to see rehearsal and gig details at "Need2Know"
